Outgoing Wires
In order to wire funds out of Michigan United Credit Union you must contact the receiving institution for proper wiring instructions. (The ABA on the bottom of the member’s checks are not always the same)
The following information is required:
- Name of receiving financial institution along with city, state, and ABA routing number
- Name of the account at receiving financial institution
- Account number at receiving financial institution to where monies are to be deposited.
Wire requests must be received by 4:00 p.m. to be processed that day. International wire requests must be received by 1:00 p.m. to be processed the same day.
Incoming Wires – (Domestic Only)
PLEASE NOTE: Michigan United Credit Union does not accept incoming wires from foreign countries.
To wire funds in to your Michigan United Credit Union account, you will need to contact the sending financial institution and provide them with the following information:

Credit the name on the account and account # at Michigan United Credit Union. (for depositing purposes)

IMPORTANT: WIRE FRAUD WARNING
Due to recent internet fraud and email hacking, we are hereby advising all of our members that for your protection, please call a good known contact number to verify any and all wire instructions you receive BEFORE initiating a wire. The credit union or its affiliates will not be held liable if you become a victim of this fraud.
Direct Deposit
Let your company’s payroll department know you would like to have your paycheck automatically deposited into your Michigan United Credit Union account.
You will need to provide the following information:
• The Michigan United Credit Union Routing Number #272477199
• Your Account Number
• Remember to include the three-digit account suffix to the end of your account number (ie. Checking is 100)
Do not leave a space or use commas, dashes, etc., between your account number and the three digit suffix.
EXAMPLE: If you want your Direct Deposit to go to your checking account number 123456, you should enter 123456100.
Safe Deposit Boxes
Protect your valuables and important documents in a safe deposit box at Michigan United Credit Union. We offer four different Safe Deposit Box sizes*:
- 3″x5″ – $20 annually
- 3″x10″ – $40 annually
- 5″x10″ – $50 annually
- 10″x10″ – $80 annually
Note: Safe Deposit Boxes are only available at the Waterford branch(4594 Pontiac Lake Road) and Warren branch (30160 Van Dyke Avenue).
* Not all box sizes may be available at all times.
Notary Service
We provide free notary services at all of our branches. Proof of identity must be provided.
Money Orders
A money order is a prepaid payment that can be used to pay or send money to people as a safe alternative to cash or checks. As a member, you may get a money order up to $1,000 maximum.
Check Reordering
Harland Clarke 1-800-858-3355 provides check order services to our members. Login using Michigan United Credit Union’s routing number 272477199 and your account number. NOTE: If your name or address has changed since your previous check order, please contact us at 248-814-4000.

VISA Prepay Cards
VISA Travel Cards
Keep your money safe and secure while you travel with the TravelMoney Visa Card. Accepted at over 20 Million Visa locations worldwide. They are prepaid and reloadable. The funds are refundable if lost or stolen. TravelMoney Visa Cards can be purchased for a nominal fee.

These cards are great for holidays and gifts. They are refundable if lost or stolen and accepted at millions of places worldwide that welcome VISA. Visa Gift Cards can be purchased for a nominal fee.
