The funds you deposit in an HSA can be used to pay for medical expenses such as transportation to doctor visits, medications, and vision care. There is no “use it or lose it” rule and the funds are tax-deferred. You can use payroll deduction or add any amount up to the maximum allowed per plan per year. This account never carries an annual maintenance fee and any money in the account rolls over from year to year – you get back what you don’t spend.
