Starting May 1, 2025, all Shared Branching users (who utilize a Shared Branch in another state) must preload their state-issued driver’s ID into the IDCheck application before visiting a Participating Shared Branch location. This ensures a smoother and more secure transaction experience for everyone involved.
Who will need to prepare?
➤ Visiting a Shared Branch in another state? If you’re a member of a Credit Union participating in Shared Branching, follow the steps below to set up your IDCheck before May 1, 2025.
➤ Michigan United Credit Union Members Using Shared Branching in another state? If you plan to visit another Credit Union out of state within the Shared Branching network, set up IDCheck before May 1, 2025, to ensure a hassle-free experience when conducting your transactions.
Step-by-Step Setup
Step 1:
When visiting a Shared Branch that uses IDCheck, scan the QR code on your smart device, such as a smartphone, accept the Terms & Conditions, and tap Start. You can also visit Verify.coop.org if you don't have a smart device.
Type the name of your home credit union, and tap NEXT
Step 2:
Enter your Member Number and the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. Then tap Next
Accept the Terms and Consent
Allow access to Camera
Step 3:
IDCheck guides you in taking a picture of the front of your government - issued ID.
Confirm that all data on document, visible, glare free and not blurred.
IDCheck guides you in taking a picture of the back of your government - issued ID.
Confirm that all data on document, including the barcode, visible, glare free and not blurred.
IDCheck guides you to take a selfie, which is used to validate your ID.
Confirm that your face aligned in the frame and not blurry.
Step 4:
Your verification is complete.
If this is your first time going through this process, you will see a pop-up on this screen offering the option to be remembered for an expedited flow the next time.
The access code is active for 20 minutes. If it expires, you need to begin the process again by scanning the QR code.
What if You Can't Get a Verification Code?
No problem! If you’re unable to generate a verification code, your transaction can still be processed. The Teller may use other verification methods to complete your transaction.
