I have been a Credit Union Board Member for the last 12 years, participating in three mergers. My expertise is in finance:
-I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan; Ross Business School in Ann Arbor.
-A MBA from the University of Detroit.
-A MS in Taxation from Walsh College.
-I am a Certificated Management Accountant (CMA).
I am also an adjunct professor of accounting at Baker College and teach accounting and finance in the graduate program at Central Michigan University.
I am currently working as an arbitrator for FINRA, a division of the Security Exchange Commission.
My work background was as a senior financial manager at Chrysler Corporation for 35 years. My last position was overseeing the handling of $1.2 Billion of engineering expenses and came in under budget.
Goal-My goal for being a part of the Board of Director is to provide financial literacy with ethical behavior to ensure the Credit Union goals are met, and the members funds are protected and secured.
Glen Mitchell
Director
Glen is the owner of Tax Center on Grange Hall Rd. in Holly. He has been preparing income taxes since the 1980s. He is an Enrolled Agent, the licensing IRS does for Tax professionals who have passed a stringent test and continue to maintain a high level of education.
He and wife Candy, they own Mitchell Farm located in the northwest corner of Oakland County. The Mitchell family is one of the earliest pioneer families of Holly, settling there in 1837.
Glen is a lifelong farmer. Mitchell Farm sells pumpkins in the fall at their roadside market and greenhouse raised plants in the spring. The farm is over 300 acres composed of woodlots and crop land. Corn, soybeans, hay, & wheat are produced on the farm.
Glen is a graduate of Michigan State University. He has been involved with Farm Bureau for over 30 years and is currently the Oakland County Farm Bureau president. Glen also serves on the Holly Township planning commission.
Glen has been a long-term credit union member. His Mother was one the founding members with the original Holly teacher’s credit union that later merged with the Waterford Teachers Credit Union. Later the name was changed to Metro North Federal Credit Union.
